Maureen McTigue leaves Harris Comics

The Beat reports:

Maureen McTigue, editor of VAMPIRELLA MAGAZINE for Harris Publications, is no longer at the company. Assistant Editor Boni Alimagno will be assuming control of the magazine, which is half entertainment-themed content and half comics.

Vampirella, the long running sexy blood sucker, has been the backbone of Harris' comics publishing over the years, but as the comics market foundered in the late '90s, she was brought back in this hybrid format.

The popular and well-respected McTigue formerly worked at DC and Wizard.com. Reached for comment, she professed to be "feeling great" and weighing her future options, including possibly going to grad school.
