Up next for Whedon

ICv2 has news on what writer Joss Whedon's next project will be:

Variety has reported that Joss Whedon (Buffy, Angel, Serenity) has signed a deal with Universal for Goners, a new feature film that he will write and direct. The film is "...the story of a young woman's journey that involves a great deal of horror and some heroics," Whedon told Variety. It's unclear when Whedon will start work on Goners, since he's slated to write and direct Wonder Woman (see "Buffy Scribe Tapped for Wonder Woman").

Whedon also told Variety that he has been thinking about a new TV series based on Spike, the vampire from the Buffy universe played by James Marster.

A tv series for Spike? I thought the plan was to do a tv movie, with former Angel/Firefly guy Tim Minear behind the camera.

I believe that show's been made, and it was called "Buffy the Vampire Slayer, seasons 5-7". There are still people out there who didn't get more than their fill of Spike?

I dunno. I never really liked him. Or Angel, for that matter.

The only people that didn't get their fill of spike were 40 year old housewives in Idaho.
